About the vision bearer

Ninsiima’s passion for crafting jewelry began in childhood, when she would sneak away to play dress-up with her mother’s jewelry collection. Her love for creating beautiful pieces is deeply rooted in her mother Abwooli’s own passion for collecting.

In 2019, Ninsiima launched Bijouterie from her bedroom while pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at Cavendish University Uganda, initially crafting pieces for herself. As her creations gained attention, she prepared a PowerPoint presentation for her father, who supported her with $200 to help her turn her passion into a business. Bijouterie officially opened on Instagram in June 2021.

Now a nurse residing in Chicago, Ninsiima is also furthering her education and as a born again Christian, dedicating her time to philanthropy through the Mizuva Foundation. She also creates jewelry for women-owned small businesses that specialize in handmade brass pieces.

A true art enthusiast, Ninsiima’s passion for jewelry is intertwined with a deep appreciation for poetry, art, fashion, and music. She believes that the arts have the power to enrich lives and transform society.
